Job Description - Commercial manager

Commercial Manager Package: DOE + Benefits Location: South Yorkshire A rare opportunity has arisen to build and develop the commercial function of a growing, innovative business, shaping the future direction of an industry leader.

Our client, a materials engineering consultancy, is looking to appoint their first Commercial Manager to drive growth and mature the commercial functions within the business.

This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in the future growth of a high-potential organisation.

This role will involve developing new and existing business, and supporting marketing strategies to meet their ambitious plans.

What you'll need: experience in a B2 B commercial, business development or sales role, ideally in an engineering, research or technology-based industry.

successful track record of leading business development, sales and marketing initiatives within a related B2 B environment.

customer-focused with experience building strategic partnerships or key account management.

record of delivering sales targets while maintaining excellent customer service and quality.

for designing and delivering successful marketing campaigns and supporting collateral materials.

with communicating effectively to senior executives internally and externally.

relationships with external marketing and branding agencies, industry bodies, trade associations etc.

communication, negotiation, customer service and interpersonal skills.

passion for innovation, technology and sustainability.

to embrace change and accept new responsibilities, with the ability to work under pressure.

What you'll be doing: and pursuing new business opportunities to expand the customer base, market share and profitability.

This will involve prospecting new clients, developing proposals, negotiating contracts, and forming strategic partnerships.

sales and marketing strategies aligned with company objectives, market and industry trends.

insights and recommendations based on sales data and market analysis.

and maintaining strong relationships with key clients, research partners and other stakeholders, to understand their needs and anticipate new business opportunities.

as a proactive member of the business leadership team, aligning closely with Group Leaders to actively drive the future success of the business.

regular customer visits, supported by technical specialists, to identify leads, develop new business proposals and deliver commercially successful projects.
