We are looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to join an established container transport operation in Felixstowe.

This is a customer-facing role for someone who understands the container transport market and can develop existing relationships while creating new commercial opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and grow existing customer accounts.

* Identify and secure new business opportunities.

* Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline.

* Develop relationships with freight forwarders, shipping lines and importers.

* Prepare quotations, rate reviews and commercial proposals.

* Attend customer meetings and industry events.

* Work closely with Operations to ensure commercially viable solutions.

* Monitor customer volumes, rates and account performance.

* Support tenders and larger commercial opportunities.

* Identify opportunities to introduce additional services

What We’re Looking For

* Strong knowledge of container transport and the Felixstowe market.

* Existing industry relationships and contacts would be advantageous.

* Proven commercial, sales or account management experience.

* Confident developing new business as well as managing existing customers.

* Commercially aware with a good understanding of transport pricing and margins.

* Strong communication and negotiation skills.

* Self-motivated and comfortable generating your own opportunities.

* Able to build long-term customer relationships rather than simply chase short-term sales.
