I’m working on an opportunity for a junior Solicitor/CILEx Lawyer to join a Legal 500-ranked Exeter firm in their Commercial Property team. This is a growth role for someone looking to build early responsibility, gain exposure to quality clients, and develop their commercial skill set within a supportive, forward-thinking environment.

The firm has seen sustained growth in recent years, with over 200 employees across multiple offices in the region. With their annual turnover now approaching £15 million, the commercial services division continues to be a major driver of expansion.

The Commercial Property department alone generates over £1 million in revenue annually and plays a central role in the firm’s wider strategic plans. They’ve recently acted on several high-profile transactions, including the £2.4 million share sale of a major heritage site, the £2 million disposal of a regional hotel, and a multi-million-pound sale of a holiday let portfolio. The firm is especially active in specialist sectors such as hospitality and leisure, renewable energy, food and drink, and the charity sector.

The team is comprised of around 10–12 fee earners and sits within a wider commercial department of over 30 legal professionals. You’ll be supported by experienced partners, senior lawyers, and legal assistants, with a collaborative mindset that encourages progression at all levels.

You’ll have your own caseload of commercial property matters from day one, advising clients on acquisitions, leases, developments, refinancing arrangements, and related agreements including options, promotions, licences, and easements. You’ll also be encouraged to get involved in business development and sector-specific networking.
