An established and growing law firm is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Commercial Property Paralegal to join its busy Commercial Property team.
Working closely with senior members of the department, you will support a varied caseload acting for landlords, tenants, property investors, businesses, developers and private clients. The team advises on a broad range of commercial property matters, including acquisitions and disposals, landlord and tenant work, commercial leases, property finance, development projects and property management across a variety of sectors.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Commercial Property Paralegal looking to further develop their technical expertise, gain greater responsibility and build strong client relationships within a supportive and forward-thinking legal practice.
Key Responsibilities
Managing and progressing a varied caseload of commercial property matters from instruction through to completion. Assisting with commercial property acquisitions and disposals, including reviewing title documentation, raising and responding to enquiries, and progressing transactions to completion. Supporting landlord and tenant matters, including the preparation, review and completion of leases, licences, assignments, renewals and related documentation. Assisting with property finance transactions and associated security documentation. Undertaking and reviewing property searches, title documents, leases, CPSE enquiries and other due diligence requirements. Drafting, reviewing and amending commercial property documentation under appropriate supervision. Preparing reports on title, completion statements and transactional documents. Liaising with clients, solicitors, agents, lenders, surveyors, accountants and other professional advisers. Managing key dates, deadlines and transaction timetables to ensure matters progress efficiently. Assisting with Land Registry applications, registrations and post-completion matters. Preparing and submitting SDLT returns and arranging payments where required. Ensuring compliance with SRA regulations, AML procedures and internal firm processes. Maintaining accurate electronic and paper files and updating the case management system. Delivering a high level of client service and maintaining regular client communication throughout transactions. Supporting wider business development and networking activities where appropriate.
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will ideally have:
Previous experience working as a Commercial Property Paralegal. Strong legal research, drafting and document review skills. Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities. The ability to work independently while recognising when to seek support and guidance. A professional, personable and client-focused approach. A genuine interest in developing a long-term career within commercial property law.
