SME Account Manager - Top 30 UK Broker - Penistone/Sheffield

An exciting opportunity has arisen with a well-established insurance broker based at their South Yorkshire office. Following an internal restructure, the business is looking to appoint a motivated professional to manage and grow its SME client portfolio.
This role is ideal for someone with SME insurance experience who’s ready to make their mark. Initially desk-based, the position offers a clear path to progressing into a full Executive role, including face-to-face client meetings for renewals and new business. You'll work closely with the Managing Director, who brings a wealth of industry knowledge and is committed to your development.
Key Responsibilities:Manage an existing book of business generating over £200,000 in income
Build lasting client relationships and develop a deep understanding of their insurance needs
Handle premiums ranging from £300 to £20,000
Manage renewals and proactively drive high retention levels
Communicate daily with underwriters and foster strong market relationships
Broker risks for both new and renewing clients
Identify and convert upselling opportunities within the existing portfolio
Use insurer portals to process new business and renewals
Take initial claims notifications and liaise with relevant colleagues
Collaborate closely with the Corporate team
Use Acturis on a daily basis
Basic salary up to c£35,000
Uncapped bonus for new business and renewals
