Job Title: Commercial Technical Sales - Trace Heating

Location: Southside, Stockport

Salary: £30,000 - £37,000 per annum

Job Type: Full time, Permanent

About the Role:

We are seeking a driven and technically proficient Commercial Technical Sales person to join our growing team in the trace heating sector. This role combines technical expertise with commercial acumen to deliver tailored heating solutions to clients across industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Provide technical advice and support on trace heating systems, including heat loss calculations and system design.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales proposals, quotations, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with engineering and project teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Identify new business opportunities and contribute to strategic sales planning.
  • Attend site visits, trade shows, and industry events as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions using CRM tools.

About you:

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • BTEC, HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, Energy Systems, or a related technical discipline is required.
  • Previous experience in technical sales, application engineering or project engineering, ideally within the heating, electrical, or industrial sectors.
  • Must have proficiency in CRM platforms training will be given on in house system.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Analytical thinking and a practical, solution-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work to targets and deadlines.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Sound understanding of trace heating systems, including system design and cable selection.
  • Experience in interpreting technical drawings.
  • Experience with self-regulating and constant wattage heating cables, as well as control and monitoring systems, would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of thermal insulation, pipework systems, and temperature maintenance requirements would be an advantage.
  • Familiarity with electrical standards such as BS 7671 and IEC 60079 (hazardous areas).
  • CompEx certification for hazardous area installations is preferred however, is not essential
  • Product-specific training will be provided.
