My client is a fast-growing, dynamic Managing General Agent (MGA) backed by A-rated insurers and trusted by brokers across the UK. They specialise in building bespoke schemes and delivering non-standard, specialist, and niche insurance solutions. With a strong track record in portfolio underwriting and a wide appetite across property & casualty, they simplify complex insurance placements through data-driven insight and customer-first design.
As their commercial combined portfolio continues to grow, they’re looking to add an experienced Underwriter to their London team, someone with strong technical knowledge, a commercial mindset, and a desire to work in a collaborative, fast-moving MGA environment.
The Role:
In this role, you’ll underwrite and manage a mix of SME and mid-market commercial combined business, with a focus on trades and product-based risks. You’ll be a key part of a high-performing team, building broker relationships and contributing to the profitable growth of a specialist book of business.
Key Responsibilities:

• Underwrite new and existing commercial combined business (trades, property, liability, and product risks)
• Assess risk quality and price appropriately within authority limits
• Develop and maintain strong broker relationships to drive new business and retention
• Support the wider portfolio strategy with data-led decision-making
• Contribute to continuous improvement of underwriting processes and product offerings

What We’re Looking For:

• Ideally 2–5 years’ experience underwriting commercial combined risks
• Strong knowledge of trade and product liability insurance
• MGA, insurer, or delegated authority experience preferred
• Excellent communication and broker relationship skills
• Confident, proactive, and commercially aware
• Ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
