Commis Chef

Our client, a popular Singaporean street food brand known for their award-winning curry puffs and Southeast Asian dishes, is seeking a motivated and experienced Prep/Delivery Kitchen Supervisor to oversee a small but busy delivery and prep kitchen in South East London.

The successful candidate will lead kitchen operations, support retail sites with prep orders, and help grow the delivery and catering side of the business.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook menu items to brand standards
  
• ​Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations and ensure smooth service delivery
  
• Fulfil food prep requests from other sites and coordinate order dispatch
  
• Supervise takeaway and catering order packing with accuracy and timeliness
  
• Maintain stock levels, conduct weekly stock counts, and order supplies
  
• Ensure full compliance with hygiene, safety, and cleanliness standards
  
• Lead and train a small team (2–3 staff), ensuring consistent kitchen performance
  
• Provide daily updates to the area manager on sales and operational matters
  
• Address customer complaints and order issues effectively
  
  

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a kitchen or food prep role (fast-paced environment preferred)
  
• Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  
• Confidence working independently and motivating a small team
  
• Familiarity with food safety regulations and hygiene standards
  
• Experience with platforms like Deliveroo, Uber Eats, and Just Eat for Business is a plus
  
• Good spoken English and team collaboration skills
  
• Passionate about food and delivering high standards under pressure
