Job Description - Commis Chef

Millennium Hotel and Resorts UK is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Full Time Commis Chef to join our vibrant kitchen team. As a key member of our culinary department, the Commis Chef will support the creation of exceptional dishes that meet our high standards of quality and presentation. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about developing their culinary skills within a dynamic hospitality environment. You will work closely with our chefs to prepare ingredients, assist in cooking, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen. Responsibilities

  • Assist chefs in preparing and cooking food items according to recipes and presentation standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workstation at all times.
  • Ensure all food preparation tasks are carried out in line with health and safety regulations.
  • Receive and store deliveries, checking for quality and freshness of ingredients.
  • Support the kitchen team during busy service periods to ensure timely delivery of dishes.
  • Participate in the preparation of mise en place to facilitate smooth kitchen operations.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
  • Previous experience or training in a similar kitchen role is an advantage but not essential.
  • Passion for food and commitment to learning new culinary skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Understanding of basic hygiene and food safety practices.
  • Flexibility to work casual shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks as required.

  • Role: Commis Chef
  • Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, on a 5 days from 7 days rota
  • Location: Copthorne Hotel Aberdeen, AB10 1SU
