Job Description - Commissioning Engineer

Commissioning Engineer (Siemens TIA Portal)


Role Overview

We are seeking highly skilled Commissioning Engineers to support the commissioning of automated systems for a high-profile Distribution Centre project in Hull. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with Siemens TIA Portal (Step 7, WinCC), as well as the ability to troubleshoot and optimise PLC programs in a fast-paced, industrial setting.

The role will begin with 4 days of paid training in Market Harborough, after which the successful candidate will be deployed to the project site.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Commission and test automation systems using Siemens TIA Portal
  • Perform troubleshooting, modification, and optimisation of PLC programs
  • Work closely with installation teams to ensure seamless system integration
  • Conduct testing and verification of conveyor systems and automated equipment
  • Ensure that all commissioning documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner for client handover
  • Essential Skills and Experience
  • Proven experience with Siemens TIA Portal (Step 7, WinCC)
  • Extensive background in automation commissioning within industrial environments
  • Proficient in reading and modifying PLC programs and electrical schematics
  • IPAF Certification (Essential)
  • Valid CSCS/ECS card

Desirable Skills

Experience with conveyor system installation and commissioning

Familiarity with warehouse automation systems and logistics environments


Location: Hull, East Yorkshire (with initial training in Market Harborough)
Contract Duration: Approximately 2 Months
Hourly Rate: Competitive (Dependent on Experience)
Working Hours:

Training: 4 days, 8 hours per day (paid hourly)

On-site: 10 hours per day, Monday to Friday
