Commissioning Engineer

Commissioning Engineer – Healthcare & Industrial Systems Permanent | £50,000 + OTE £70,000 | Field Based | Weekend Shift

Jackson Hogg is working with a specialist engineering business to recruit a Commissioning Engineer on a permanent weekend shift basis. This is a technically demanding, nationally mobile role servicing critical systems across NHS Trusts, private hospitals and industrial sites.

The Role

You will be responsible for the commissioning, servicing, rapid-response call-out and repair of Medical IT systems, Theatre Control Panels, Operating Lights, medical tables, pendants and associated equipment. Working across healthcare estates and industrial settings, you will be the technical face of the business on site — dealing directly with Facilities Management teams, Electrical Contractors, NHS estates staff and end users.

This role operates on a compressed weekend schedule with two shift patterns available, Friday to Sunday or Saturday to Monday,offering significant time back across the working week.

Key Responsibilities

* Commissioning and servicing of Medical IT (IPS) systems, Surgeons Control Panels, Theatre Operating Lights, medical tables and pendants

* Rapid-response call-out and repair within agreed timescales, including out-of-hours logging

* Completing site-specific risk assessments and method statements

* Providing on-site customer training on commissioned equipment

* Remote service monitoring and data analysis

* Supporting industrial on-site technical commissioning as required

* Attending site meetings and uploading programmes on project completion

What We're Looking For

* 18th Edition qualified Electrician essential

* JIB Gold Card essential

* ECS Card essential

* Experience with Medical IT systems (IPS), UPS, auto changeover systems and PLCs

* Familiarity with Theatre Operating Lights, Surgeons Control Panels and medical tables desirable

* SSSTS Card desirable

* Full clean UK driving licence essential

* DBS check required

What's on Offer

* £50,000 base salary

* Overtime earnings up to £20,000 per annum — total package up to £70,000

* Permanent weekend shift — Friday to Sunday or Saturday to Monday (compressed 3-day week)
