Our client, is a specialist provider of monitoring solutions used across critical industries worldwide including nuclear, oil & gas, marine and renewables.
Their innovative monitoring systems provide real-time insight into asset performance, helping customers improve safety, manage risk and maintain reliable operations.
Due to continued growth, they're looking to appoint a Commissioning Engineer to join their team based in Cowes, Isle of Wight.
This is a hands-on role offering regular UK and international travel, working on cutting-edge monitoring systems across a variety of engineering environments.
The Role
As a Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring monitoring systems are successfully installed, configured, tested and handed over to customers.
This role is based in Cowes on the Isle of Wight where the client have manufacturing facilities. Whilst here you'll be involved with testing and commissioning of equipment, whilst preparing for UK and international trips to client sites. These sites include a variety of different land based locations and facilities as well as offshore installations. All required training and certification for the role will be provided by the client, but experience of working away often in challenging environments would be advantageous.
Key responsibilities include:
Commissioning and acceptance testing of monitoring systems both in-house and on customer sites Configuring hardware, software, sensors and data acquisition systems Calibrating and validating load, strain and structural monitoring equipment Diagnosing and resolving technical faults during commissioning activities Producing commissioning reports, documentation and handover packs Supporting installation and project delivery teams Ensuring all equipment meets quality, safety and customer requirements Representing the business professionally while working on customer sites

Essential Requirements
Engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, HNC, HND or equivalent experience) Electrical engineering background Understanding of industrial electronics, instrumentation or automation systems Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting abilities Good communication and customer-facing skills Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively Willingness to travel throughout the UK and internationally Comfortable working at height and within confined spaces when required
Desirable Experience
Commissioning of industrial systems Instrumentation and monitoring equipment Data acquisition systems Structural monitoring, load monitoring or sensor-based technologies Site installation and testing activities Only candidates based in UK and eligible to work in UK are allowed
