High Voltage Commissioning Engineer – 11kV–132kV

Salary DOE + Paid Travel + Overtime + Company Vehicle

Adeptus Talent is partnered with a growing specialist HV engineering business delivering high voltage infrastructure projects across the UK.

Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, we're looking for two experienced HV Commissioning Engineers to join the business.

This isn't a development-level commissioning position. We're looking for experienced engineers who are already operating as an SAP and are comfortable taking responsibility for HV commissioning activities on site.

The business works across a varied portfolio of grid connections, substations, BESS, solar, data centres and industrial infrastructure, with projects ranging from 11kV through to 132kV.

The role

You'll be involved in full-scheme HV testing and commissioning, including:

* Primary and secondary testing

* HV switchgear testing and commissioning

* Power transformer commissioning

* Protection relay testing and functional checks

* CT/VT and CVT testing

* Circuit breaker testing

* Secondary injection testing

* SCADA/control system interfaces

* Fault finding and diagnostics

* Preparation and completion of commissioning documentation

* Supporting energisation activities

* Liaising with DNOs, ICPs, clients and project teams

What we're looking for

You'll need to be an experienced HV Commissioning Engineer capable of working independently on site.

SAP status is essential.

Ideally you'll also have:

* Strong HV commissioning experience at 33kV–132kV

* Experience across substations, grid connections or similar HV infrastructure

* Protection relay testing experience

* Experience using equipment such as Omicron and/or Megger

* Knowledge of DNO/ICP networks

* G99/G59 commissioning knowledge

* Ability to interpret electrical drawings and protection schematics

* Relevant electrical engineering qualification

* ECS/CSCS and relevant site certifications

132kV experience is preferred, although experienced 33kV SAP Commissioning Engineers will also be considered.

Previous experience within a particular sector isn't essential. We're interested in engineers from power, utilities, renewables, BESS, solar, data centres, industrial infrastructure or similar HV environments.

Package

Basic salarydepending on experience, plus:

* Travel paid door-to-door at standard rate

* Site overtime at enhanced rates

* Saturday – first 4 hours at 1.5x, thereafter 2x

* Sunday – 2x

* Additional stay-away payment

* Company vehicle and fuel card

* Private healthcare

* Further training and development

This is a nationwide position, so applicants can be based anywhere in the UK, provided they're comfortable travelling and staying away when projects require.
