Dairy UK is looking for a motivated and proactive communications professional to join our small, friendly team.
The Communications Executive will play an important role within Dairy UK, supporting the Communications Manager to deliver high-quality communications across a varied portfolio of strategic work. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in PR or communications who is looking to develop their skills in a busy and varied role at the heart of one of the UK’s most important food sectors.
Job Responsibilities:
The Communications Executive will be an important member of the team, supporting the Communications Manager to deliver across a number of strategic work areas on behalf of the British dairy processing industry.
Key duties will include but are not limited to:
Supporting the Communications Manager and Chief Executive in all aspects related to media, public, industry and other external enquiries,
Supporting key members of the Dairy UK team,
Working as part of the team to deliver our social and digital strategies,
Assisting with website and social media updating where required.
Supporting the Dairy UK Communications manager in delivering key events:
Helping to create and deliver promotional materials for Dairy UK run and attended events – both online and physical,
Working collaboratively with colleagues within Dairy UK to provide communications advice and practical support.
Supporting the Communications Manager in member, industry and stakeholder communications related to Dairy UK, its schemes and wider industry initiatives.
Experience:
Essential requirements:
2-5 years’ experience within a PR/communications related field.
Degree educated or equivalent.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to write clearly and accurately for different audiences and channels.
A proactive approach and the confidence to take ownership of tasks.
The ability to understand and communicate complex subjects.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Excellent attention to detail.
The flexibility to work effectively both independently and as part of a small team.
The right to live and work in the UK.
Desirable:
Experience in the food and drink, FMCG or agricultural sectors.
A degree or equivalent qualification in public relations, communications, marketing or a related discipline.
Experience using design tools such as Adobe InDesign or Canva.
Experience of digital PR tools (such as press databases, website content management systems and email platforms such as Mailchimp.)
