Communications Lead

Belmont Recruitment are looking for a Communications Lead to join Sefton Council's Regional Care Service on an initial 3-6 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering both internal and external communications priorities, providing advice and guidance on significant reputational matters and supporting the Regional Care Cooperative Deliver Director.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, develop and deliver internal and external communications activity.

Oversee the day-to-day media relations function, ensuring consistent messaging and high-quality communications.

Coordinate internal communications and ensure consistency of messaging.

*

Support change programmes and employee engagement initiatives.

*

Provide trusted communications advice to senior officers and leadership teams.

*

Build strong relationships with elected members, journalists, partners and key stakeholders.

*

Develop evidence-based communications plans and evaluate communications activity.

*

Identify opportunities to improve internal and external communications.

*

Support communications activity that protects and enhances the Council's reputation.

About You

We are looking for an experienced communications professional with strong internal and external communications, media relations and stakeholder engagement experience.

You will need to be confident advising senior stakeholders, managing competing priorities and delivering clear, consistent and high-quality communications.
