Job DescriptionCommunications Lead – English Regions, £36K PA, 12 month FTC12-month Maternity Cover, FTCHybrid, circa 2 days/week in Birmingham the rest RemoteThe OrganisationThe Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) is a world-renowned professional engineering body with over 97,000 members globally. We work at the heart of civil engineering, supporting and inspiring our members, promoting excellence, integrity and influencing policy.The RoleWe’re seeking a Communications Lead for 12 months maternity cover to join our team. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the successful delivery of our pan-regional communications and marketing programmes (predominantly in the East of England, East Midlands, London, South East, South West, North East, North West, West Midlands and Yorkshire & Humber).You’ll be responsible for developing and delivering high-impact communications strategies for pan regional projects and campaigns. Part of the Midlands Regional Support Team, you will work closely with other regional teams, members and external stakeholders to support the delivery of ICE’s objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement regional communications and marketing plans and campaigns for pan-regional projects.Oversee the production of high-quality content for various channels, including e-news, social media, websites and printed materials.Manage and support the successful delivery of regional events, maximising profile-raising opportunities.Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including regional media contacts, government officials and industry leaders.Proactively identify and capitalise on media opportunities to raise awareness of ICE’s work and influence policy agendas.Provide support and guidance to regional communications leads on best practices and effective communication strategies.Who You AreDegree-qualified/professionally qualified (CIPR or similar) with proven track record of success in the comms field or a public relations role.Proven experience in developing and delivering successful communications campaigns across multiple channels.Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.A strong understanding of the media landscape and experience in building media relations.Experience in project management and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.A team player with a positive and proactive attitude.Experience working across different teams and functions is highly desirable.A full UK driving license (desirable due to occasional travel).Salary & Benefits£36K PAHybrid working25 days holiday + 8 Public holidays + Christmas shutdownUp to eight per cent of salary contributed to a personal pension schemeAnnual £100 allowance towards your wellbeing24-hour employee support lineDeath in service benefit equivalent to one year’s salaryInterest free season ticket loanCycle to work schemeBig Gym membership savings with the GymFlex schemeYour Rewards discount schemeICE Group is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) 2018The data collected via this application process will only be used by the ICE Group for the purpose of recruitment and for the performance of an employment contract if a job offer is made.
