Job Description - Communities Support Officer (Internal Applicants Only)

Job Title: : Communities Support Officer

Salary: £26,520 - £32,000 per annum

Hours per week: 35

Location: At IOSH, we embrace hybrid working because we believe it's the key to achieving work-life balance, strategic success and fostering our collaborative culture. You’ll be required to work from our head office in Wigston, Leicester a minimum of 2 days per week (Tuesday - Thursday). The remainder of your working hours will be undertaken from home.

About the role
We have an exciting opportunity to join the Communities and Volunteer Engagement Team (Networks Team) as a Communities Support Officer. It’s an opportunity to contribute to the success of our volunteer-led communities and support the delivery of impactful events and initiatives.

You’ll play a vital role in supporting the operational delivery of our community and volunteer activities. You’ll work closely with the Communities Engagement Partners and Events Team to coordinate events, manage processes, and ensure our programmes align with the IOSH Competency Framework. You’ll also support committee recruitment, financial processes, and data reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the organisation and coordination of community and volunteer events (virtual and in-person).

Support financial processes including expenses and venue arrangements.

Assist with committee recruitment and onboarding.

Collect and report on data to support decision-making and performance tracking.

Maintain accurate CRM records and support engagement analysis.

Promote IOSH values and contribute to a culture of inclusion, sustainability, and continuous improvement.

Essential criteria

Knowledge of administration process and experience in organising events and delivering excellent customer service.

Strong administrative and IT skills, including Microsoft Office.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational abilities.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

A collaborative team player with a keen eye for detail.
