Location: Melton Mowbray, Midlands (Nationwide Travel & Stay Away Required)
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 + Vehicle or £4,000 Car Allowance

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Compartmentation Surveyor to join a well-established and growing contractor delivering passive fire protection works across the Midlands and nationwide. The business operates across a strong pipeline of secured projects, with the majority of works based in the Midlands and the flexibility to travel nationally as contracts demand.

The Role

As Compartmentation Surveyor, you will carry out fire stopping and fire door surveys across a variety of environments, with fire stopping forming the primary focus of the role. You will identify defects and non-compliance issues, produce accurate and client-ready survey reports, and work closely with project teams to ensure passive fire compliance is maintained to the highest standard across all sites.

This is a mobile role requiring someone who is comfortable travelling nationwide and staying away from home when contracts demand it.

Key Responsibilities

* Carry out detailed compartmentation surveys with a primary focus on fire stopping — penetration seals, cavity barriers, fire boarding, batts and mastic

* Conduct thorough fire door surveys including full compliance checks, gap tolerances, ironmongery and intumescent seals

* Identify defects and non-compliance issues in line with current regulations and passive fire standards

* Produce clear, accurate and client-ready survey reports using digital reporting systems

* Liaise professionally with clients, site teams and project managers throughout

* Work independently across multiple sites, managing your own workload efficiently

* Travel across the Midlands and nationally as required, with stay away when needed

What We're Looking For

* Proven experience as a Compartmentation Surveyor with a strong focus on fire stopping — essential

* Alternatively a strong trade background in passive fire with deep knowledge of fire stopping systems — considered

* Strong technical knowledge of compartmentation standards including penetration seals, cavity barriers and fire stopping systems

* Fire door survey experience — essential

* IFE Level 2 or Level 3 qualification — desirable (sponsorship available for the right candidate)

* Knowledge of FIRAS, BM TRADA or IFC standards — desirable

* Experience using digital survey and reporting tools — essential

* Comfortable travelling nationally and staying away from home as required — essential

* Full UK Driving Licence — required

* CSCS Card — desirable
