Compex Electrician

One of our clients is seeking a qualified and experienced Compex Electrician to join their team at a power station in Kent. This is a critical role responsible for ensuring the safe and compliant installation, inspection, and maintenance of electrical equipment in potentially explosive atmospheres.

Responsibilities:

• Install and maintain electrical wiring, control, and lighting systems.
• Inspect, repair, and replace electrical components, such as wiring, fixtures, transformers, and circuit breakers.
• Perform general electrical maintenance and preventative maintenance on electrical systems.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical system issues and malfunctions.
• Read blueprints and schematics.
• Document repairs and modifications.
• Adhere to all relevant building codes, safety procedures, and industry standards, including the National Electrical Code.

Qualifications and Skills:

• CompEx certification is essential
• Previous experience working in hazardous areas is a priority.
• Qualifications in electrical engineering or a related field are beneficial.
• Strong technical skills in electrical engineering.
• Ability to run conduit.
• Working knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with other skilled trades.
• Knowledge of energy-efficient equipment and products.
• Proficiency in using testing equipment and hand tools.
• Ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
• Up-to-date electrician's license.
• First aid certification is desirable.
