Complex Care Support Worker (Mental Health) Newcastle £12.71 - £20 per hour
Contract Type: Zero Hour
Must have a full UK driving licence
We are currently looking to recruit experienced Complex Care Support Workers to work across a range of specialist services in Newcastle, supporting individuals affected by drug and alcohol dependency, dual diagnosis, mental health needs, and complex behaviours. Opportunities include residential rehabilitation services, supported living, community-based recovery programmes, specialist units, and private healthcare settings as part of our established health and social care agency.
The Role
As a Complex Care Support Worker at Pin Point Health and Social Care, your main duties will include:
* Supporting individuals with drug and alcohol recovery programmes in line with personalised care and support plans.
* Providing practical and emotional support to promote independence, wellbeing, and long-term recovery.
* Administering and recording medication in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.
* Monitoring and reporting changes in physical health, mental wellbeing, and potential relapse indicators.
* Supporting service users to attend appointments, recovery groups, and community activities.
* Assisting with daily living skills, personal care (where required), and domestic duties.
* Developing positive working relationships with multidisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals, substance misuse specialists, and social care services.
* Maintaining accurate, timely, and confidential records, including risk assessments, incident reports, and support documentation.
* Promoting safeguarding, health and safety, and positive risk management at all times.
* Building professional, respectful relationships with service users, their families, and external agencies while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
The Person
The following experience and characteristics are considered essential for the role:
* A minimum of 6–12 months' experience within health and social care, preferably supporting individuals with drug and alcohol dependency, mental health needs, dual diagnosis, challenging behaviour, or complex care needs.
* A sound understanding of recovery-focused practice, safeguarding, confidentiality, and person-centred support.
* The ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in challenging or high-pressure situations.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and positive relationships.
* Reliable, compassionate, and adaptable, with a flexible approach to working across a variety of services.
* Eligible to work in the UK.
* A full UK driving licence is essential.
* Willingness to work across multiple environments on a weekly basis to meet the needs of our clients.
