Job Overview We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Complex Care Support Workers to provide high-quality, person-centred care to a 26-year-old gentleman in his own home in Woodbridge. The individual lives with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and requires support with overnight non-invasive ventilation (NIV), alongside assistance with daily living activities to ensure comfort, safety, and quality of life. This is a rewarding opportunity to support a young adult with a long-term condition, helping him to live as independently and comfortably as possible within his own home. This role operates on a rota basis (Monday to Sunday), with both day and night shifts available. Shifts are provided in advance and paid weekly.
Responsibilities · Deliver person-centred care in line with the individuals care plan · Provide all aspects of personal care with dignity and respect · Support with overnight non-invasive ventilation (NIV) in line with training and protocols · Monitor respiratory status and respond appropriately to changes in condition · Assist with mobility and safe moving and handling using appropriate equipment · Support with medication administration in accordance with care plans · Support with daily routines including hygiene, dressing, nutrition, and hydration · Provide emotional reassurance and companionship · Maintain accurate records and documentation · Support with household tasks to ensure a safe and comfortable environment · Work closely with family members and healthcare professionals to ensure consistent care
Experience & Requirements · At least 6 months UK care experience required · Experience supporting individuals with neuromuscular conditions is highly desirable · Experience with non-invasive ventilation (NIV) is essential or willingness to be trained · Strong observational skills and ability to respond calmly in clinical situations · Compassionate, patient, and reliable approach to care · Ability to work independently and as part of a team · Full UK driving licence is preferred but not essential Please note: Sponsorship is not available for this role.
