Join Waythrough, one of the UK’s leading mental health and social support charities, and make a lasting impact every day.

We support over 125,000 people each year through our 200 services, empowering individuals to overcome challenges around mental health, housing, and substance use.

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and motivated Complex Needs Worker to join the Insight Platform within our Young People’s Service. In this role, you will work directly with young people experiencing alcohol-related problems, mental health issues and a range of complex needs, including substance misuse, psychological difficulties, anti-social behaviour, self-harm and other co-existing challenges.

You will play a key role in improving access to treatment services for this cohort and delivering a range of tailored interventions, including one-to-one support and group work. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people and help them achieve positive, sustainable change.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide specialist support to young people with complex and multiple needs.

  • Deliver a range of interventions, including 1:1 support and group-based work.

  • Improve access to treatment and support services for vulnerable young people.

  • Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners, including youth justice and health services.

  • Contribute to the development of a dynamic, high-performing team focused on quality and excellence.

  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to monitoring and evaluation of outcomes.

To Succeed in This Role, You’ll Need:

You will bring a creative, driven and person-centred approach to your work, with a strong commitment to supporting young people with complex needs. You will be an engaging communicator who can build positive relationships with service users, colleagues and partner organisations.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Experience working with young people with complex needs or substance misuse issues.

  • Experience handling complex cases involving vulnerable young people.

  • Knowledge of the criminal justice sector.

  • Experience working in a similar role or within an NHS or related setting.

  • The ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and partnerships.

Please note: The salary listed reflects the full earning potential for this role. Starting salaries depend on experience and progression within the band.
