Are you a compassionate and skilled Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with complex needs?

A welcoming primary school in Harrow is seeking a dedicated Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to work across Early Years and Key Stage 1. This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with a range of complex needs, including physical disabilities, medical needs, communication difficulties, and sensory processing challenges.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with complex learning and medical needs

• Assisting with personal care, including toileting, feeding, and mobility support where required

• Implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and therapy programmes

• Supporting the use of specialist equipment and resources

• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals

• Promoting inclusion and engagement in classroom activities

• Ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and dignity of all pupils

To be successful in this Complex Needs Teaching Assistant role, you should have:

? Qualifications:

• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g. CACHE, NCFE, NVQ, or equivalent)

• OR relevant health and social care qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Health and Social Care)

• Manual handling training or willingness to complete it (highly desirable)

• Basic understanding of safeguarding and child protection

? Experience:

• Previous experience working with children with complex needs, physical disabilities, or medical conditions

• Experience supporting children with non-verbal communication or using communication aids (e.g. PECs, Makaton)

• Confidence assisting with personal care and medical needs

• Calm, patient, and resilient approach

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
