Organisation Description An established Lloyd's broker, with offices in the City and Southend, is seeking an Assistant to the Head of Risk & Compliance to join their distinguished team. This reputable broker is renowned for its exceptional service and commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities
* Conduct compliance monitoring and audits of significant business processes. * Ensure adherence to compliance requirements. * Monitor, analyse, and communicate new regulatory developments. * Provide guidance on financial promotions. * Implement oversight and audit requirements in accordance with SYSC rules. * Develop and lead the Compliance Plan as agreed by the Board. * Support and assist the AML Officer as needed. * Lead projects and develop implementation plans. * Create and develop internal policies and procedures. * Manage the breach register and ensure resolutions. * Assist the Board in identifying, managing, and mitigating risks. * Liaise with regulators (e.g., FCA) or Lloyd's regarding queries or issues. * Facilitate insurer and client audits or reviews. * Collate data and complete filings for Lloyd's and the FCA. * Attend external training events to enhance knowledge. * Review and submit new clients and insurers for approval. * Prepare necessary paperwork, conduct sanctions checks, and contact clients and brokers for documentation. * Keep client and insurer lists up to date. * Review company procedures to ensure FCA compliance. * Conduct file checks in both Southend and London, reporting back to Management. * Update the Gift & Expenses Register. * Assist in preparing and implementing staff training programmes. * Handle general office duties such as answering the telephone, scanning, and filing. * Manage incoming and outgoing post, faxes, and emails. * Assist with ongoing projects.
Candidate Profile
* Previous Compliance experience from the Insurance market * Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. * Excellent communication and organisational skills. * The ability to manage time, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines without compromising quality. * Proficiency in understanding and executing oral and written instructions. * Professional and effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
