Keeping a business audit-ready, legally aligned and ahead of changing environmental requirements takes someone who can turn complex standards into practical action. As a Compliance Manager, you'll take ownership of a broad remit spanning management systems, accreditations, environmental legislation, insurance, ESG and health & safety support.
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you'll have the scope to influence how standards are maintained across the business. From ISO and BRCGS through to packaging legislation and carbon-neutrality initiatives, your work will have a visible impact across multiple departments.
What’s in it for you
Salary of £45,000–£48,000. Direct reporting line to the Chief Financial Officer, giving you exposure to senior-level decision-making. A varied remit covering quality, environmental, regulatory, ESG, insurance and health & safety activities. Ownership of recognised accreditations including ISO, FSC, BRCGS, EcoVadis and FORS. The opportunity to contribute to the organisation's journey towards carbon neutrality. Scope to improve systems and processes rather than simply maintain existing procedures. Your responsibilities as Compliance Manager
Manage key industry accreditations, the central Quality Management System and associated environmental, regulatory and health & safety documentation. Monitor legislative developments, including EPR, PPWR and Plastic Packaging Tax requirements, translating changes into effective business processes. Coordinate internal and external audits while maintaining the records, evidence and documentation needed to demonstrate required standards. Support ESG and CSR initiatives, carbon-neutrality objectives and relevant staff training requirements. Manage the company's insurance portfolio and act as the main point of contact for claims across areas including property, product, marine, fleet and liability cover. Work with senior leadership, Finance, HR, Sales and Procurement on policies, tenders, questionnaires and continuous improvement initiatives. What we’re looking for in a Compliance Manager
Previous experience within quality, environmental, regulatory or assurance-focused work. Strong knowledge of relevant quality and environmental management systems. Experience managing audits, industry accreditations and controlled documentation. Understanding of environmental and packaging legislation and the ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical processes. Strong organisational, administrative and stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities independently. If you're ready to take ownership of a wide-ranging regulatory remit and want a position where your work can directly shape standards across the business, apply today for this Compliance Manager opportunity.
