Job Description - Compliance Manager

Company Description
We are the only specialist producer of pads for the skincare & beauty market. Whether pads are produced from one of our stock fabrics and cutters, or from the development of innovative and bespoke pad solutions, James Douglas always aims to find the perfect pad for every each and every cosmetic application.

We die-cut non woven fabric pads at our site in Hertford which has been certified to operate in according to Cosmetic Good Manufacturing Practices (ISO22716:2007). Our products include make-up remover pads and skincare cleansing pads.

Role Description
Part-time Compliance Manager role (approx. 3 days per week) located in Hertford.

As a Compliance Manager, your responsibilities will include overseeing and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements (ISO22716), developing and implementing compliance policies & procedures (health & safety, quality & environmental) and conducting internal audits, and providing training and guidance to staff.

The Compliance Manager will:

Review Manufacturing Records to ensure compliance with agreed product specification.
·

Manage the Internal Audit Program.
·

Complete risk assessments to ensure staff safety.
·

Maintain technical details (raw materials and finished products) as required to demonstrate product safety.
·

Handling customer complaints procedure and identifying the root cause for compliance failures and implementing appropriate corrective action.
·

Approval of suppliers and review of supplier performance.
·

Be key part of the senior management team responsible for Operational Excellence on our site.

This role will require you to work on-site.

Qualifications
·

Experience in compliance management, preferably in a manufacturing or regulated industry.
·

Understanding of relevant regulations and standards relating to the cosmetics & toiletries industry.
·

Trained auditor in a relevant field relating to health & safety, quality or environmental.
·

Knowledge of textiles and their technical specifications would be a great advantage but is not essential.
·

Ability to generate clear & concise operating procedures and communicate these requirements effectively to the production team.
·

Organized & disciplined individual who demonstrates the necessary attention to detail and accuracy when preparing technical documents.
·

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
