Are you an experienced Compliance Officer with a background in the legal sector? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and proactive professional to join a well-established law firm in Walsall. This permanent, full-time role offers a competitive salary and the chance to make a real impact on firm-wide compliance and regulatory practices.

Key Responsibilities:

As Compliance Officer, you will play a central role in overseeing and enhancing the firm’s regulatory compliance processes. Duties include:

• Reviewing, updating and implementing compliance policies and procedures
• Conducting internal audits and compliance assessments
• Providing in-house training on Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and SRA standards
• Handling day-to-day compliance queries during client onboarding
• Supporting the Finance Department with AML compliance
• Assisting the COLP, COFA and MLRO in maintaining regulatory adherence
• Investigating and reporting on compliance breaches
• Liaising with the SRA and other regulatory bodies as required
• Monitoring regulatory updates and ensuring timely implementation of changes

About You

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and knowledgeable professional with:

• Proven experience as a Compliance Officer within a legal environment
• In-depth understanding of SRA Standards and Regulations and Anti-Money Laundering legislation
• Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments
• Proficiency in IT systems and compliance tools
• A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a passion for legal compliance
