You'll play a key part in ensuring that the teachers and support staff we place into schools are fully vetted, compliant and ready to work, while helping us continually improve the systems and processes behind our recruitment operation.

Enlighten Supply Pool is an established London education recruitment agency, supplying teachers, teaching assistants, SEN staff, cover supervisors and other education professionals to schools across Greater London and the surrounding counties.

We recruit for temporary, long-term and permanent positions and pride ourselves on building genuine relationships with both our schools and candidates.

The Role

As our Compliance Officer, you'll take responsibility for supporting candidates through the registration and clearance process and ensuring they meet the required safeguarding and legal standards before being placed into schools.

You'll manage multiple candidate files simultaneously, communicate regularly with candidates and consultants, and ensure our internal database contains accurate and up-to-date information.

You'll also be encouraged to challenge existing processes and suggest better ways of working.

Your responsibilities will include:

Managing candidate registrations and compliance from initial application through to clearance.

Conducting and recording Right to Work checks correctly and consistently.

*

Supporting DBS, references, identification and other pre-employment checks.

*

Ensuring candidate files meet the required safeguarding and recruitment standards.

*

Understanding and applying relevant KCSIE requirements.

*

Keeping up to date with Government and Home Office guidance.

*

Maintaining accurate candidate information and compliance records within our CRM/database.

*

Proactively chasing outstanding documentation and keeping candidates engaged throughout the process.

*

Supporting recruitment consultants with compliant, work-ready candidate pipelines.

*

Understanding and applying relevant legislation, including GDPR, data protection and Agency Workers Regulations (AWR).

*

Reviewing and helping maintain company policies including Privacy, Equal Opportunities, Diversity and Data Protection.

*

Working with technology/software providers to identify opportunities to automate, streamline and improve compliance processes.

*

Developing an understanding of the UK education system and international qualifications.

*

Supporting international candidates with information relating to working and living in the UK.

*

Assisting the Managing Director with appropriate HR and administrative responsibilities.

*

Supporting wider recruitment and administrative activities where required.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who takes pride in getting things right.

You'll need to be highly organised because you'll often be managing multiple candidates and deadlines simultaneously. At the same time, we don't want someone who simply waits to be told what to do.

We want someone who spots a problem and thinks about how to solve it.

Ideally, you'll have:

At least 1 year's experience within compliance, recruitment, education, HR, safeguarding or a similar environment.

*

Excellent attention to detail.

*

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

*

Confidence communicating professionally with candidates and colleagues.

*

The ability to prioritise and work effectively under pressure.

*

Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office and database/CRM systems.

*

A good understanding of GDPR and data protection.

*

Experience of education recruitment compliance would be a significant advantage.

*

Knowledge of KCSIE, DBS and Right to Work requirements would also be advantageous.

*

A proactive, accountable and positive approach to work.

*

The confidence to take ownership of your responsibilities rather than waiting to be managed.

Experience supervising or supporting other team members would also be welcomed, particularly if you have been involved in performance reviews, training or motivating colleagues.
