Job Description - Component Leader

Job Purpose:\n\nThe component application leader leads assigned technical projects| executes the different technical activities that are required to support a customer (or set of customers). This involves working with a cross functional team including product and manufacturing engineering| project management and customer managers. Examples include preparing and presenting the design reviews| hosting regular team meetings| participating| and organizing customer meetings and follow up customer specific requests.\n\nAssigned projects can include advance & business pursuit activities| serial development| and serial support.\n\nAdvanced and business pursuit provide the opportunities to explore regional markets| existing and potentially new customers| and their future requirements| supporting trade shows and other industrial relevant forums. \n\nSerial development and serial support projects are focused on a specific customer application to develop and industrialize the relevant products.\n\nThe Component Application Leader reports to the Application Engineering Component Manager.\n\n\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n \tWork within the assigned functional and project core teams| following EOS framework and procedures.\n \tExecute tasks required to meet core team and project objectives| (cost| quality| and timing)\n \tEscalate risks and issues to core team members and management in a timely manner.\n \tPrepare reports| presentations| and technical documentation for internal and customer use.\n \tPresent technical status in internal reviews and with customers and suppliers\n \tProvide clear analysis and summaries for decision making.\n \tApply engineering standards| procedures| and methodologies to execute project activities.\n \tApply problem solving techniques in the execution of project activities.\n \tAnalyse technical gaps in requirements by reviewing:\n \tSpecifications and BOMs.\n \tDFMEA generic vs Application specific\n \tUse of Simulations| 3D CAD models| 2D Engineering drawings with core team\n \tCreate development plan for product / system by:\n \tDefining BOM content and design activities based on core products for all phases of the project.\n \tIdentifying application specific feature requirements\n \tDefine validation plan to meet requirements.\n \tTrack and co -ordinate engineering activities to project timing requirements (PDP)\n \tPrepare Product / System release documentation.\n \tAssess risk using established FMEA methods.\n \tLead design preparation and design reviews as per PDP plans and project timing\n \tReview and contribute to Lessons Learned process\n\n\nWhat they're looking for:\n\nMandatory\n \tBachelor degree or equivalent experience in a suitable engineering or business discipline. \n \tProven experience of working with customers\n \tExcellent communications skills| with ability to present information at all levels of the business\n \tSignificant product knowledge for FIE components or systems\n\nDesirable\n \tFluent in English| French or German| depending on the localisation\n \tProject Management experience\n \tAbility to apply FMEA methodology highly desirable\n \tManaging teams\n \tAbility to understand product / system functionality.\n \tAbility to communicate with all levels of the organisation and customer.\n \tAbility to interpret engineering drawings| simulations and BOM.\n \tAbility to operate GES.\n \tAbility to apply change management process.\n \tAbility to run Product Development Process (PDP)\n \tSystem Integration &Calibration or Software System Function background\n\n\n\nThey do offer sponsorship for employment visa status based on business need. However| for this role| applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United Kingdom on a full -time basis.
