Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and passionate Computer Science Teacher to join a secondary school in the Ormskirk area in January 2026. Secondary Computer Science Teacher

Location: Ormskirk, L40

Start Date: January 2026

Contract Type: Temporary, Long Term

Working Hours: Full time, 8:00am - 4.00pm

Salary: Paid to scale

Key Responsibilities:

Design and deliver engaging lessons on topics like programming, algorithms, data structures, and computer systems
Use interactive teaching methods to make complex concepts accessible
Stay current with tech trends to keep the curriculum relevant
Communicate regularly with students and parents about academic performance
Inspire students to explore careers in technology and computing
Encourage critical thinking and problem-solving through real-world applicationsRequirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in computer science
Proven experience teaching in a UK secondary school.
Up-to-date Safeguarding training (desirable, but not essential as training can be provided).
Right to Work in the UK.
Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or willingness to apply for a new one.
