CONCRETE PUMP OPERATOR – B8 1AU – FULLTIME – BBV

A chance to work on one of the largest infrastructure projects in the UK, spanning over the next 5–7 years (HS2).

Reliable Contractors are recruiting for an experienced Concrete Pump Operator to join the BBV HS2 project at B8 1AU.

Long-term work is available for the right candidate with the correct cards, tickets and experience, offering stable employment and regular income for the foreseeable future.

Assignment Details

Payment Basis: PAYE

Paid Holidays: 31 days per year (including bank holidays)

Start Date: As soon as possible following successful vetting checks, medical and on-site induction

Lodge/digs allowance of £53.69 per day worked, subject to eligibility and supporting evidence. Eligibility generally requires living more than 50 miles from site, with proof of home address and accommodation arrangements.

Must Have

*

Valid Blue CPCS Card for operating a concrete pump.

*

Previous experience operating trailer-mounted concrete pumps.

*

Good understanding of concrete pumping procedures and equipment.

*

Knowledge of safe set-up, operation and cleaning of concrete pumping equipment.

*

Good understanding of site health and safety procedures.

Role and Responsibilities

*

Set up and operate trailer-mounted concrete pumps safely and efficiently.

*

Position and secure pumping equipment in accordance with site requirements.

*

Carry out pre-use checks and report any defects.

*

Monitor pumping operations and maintain safe working practices.

*

Coordinate with concrete wagons, banksmen and site teams.

*

Ensure pump lines and associated equipment are correctly connected and maintained.

*

Clean and maintain equipment following use, in accordance with procedures.

*

Follow all site health and safety requirements.

Shifts

Working days: Monday to Friday.

Start time: 7:00am–7:30am.

Finish time: 5:00pm–5:30pm.

Overtime

Monday to Friday: Time and a third after 10 hours.

Nights: Time and a third.

Saturdays and Sundays: Time and a half.

All night hours: Time and a half.

Health and Safety Risks

The successful candidate will be expected to promote and maintain a safe working environment, ensuring site rules, procedures and relevant health and safety requirements are followed.

Key risks associated with the role include:

Pressurised concrete lines: Follow safe operating procedures and inspect connections before pumping.

Moving plant and vehicles: Maintain safe segregation and follow site traffic management procedures.

*

Concrete splashes and contact: Use appropriate PPE and follow safe handling procedures.

*

Equipment set-up: Ensure the pump is positioned on suitable ground and stabilised correctly.

*

Working around other operatives: Maintain communication and observe exclusion zones.

*

Slips, trips and falls: Keep access routes and work areas safe and tidy.

All site-specific risks and control measures must be confirmed through the project RAMS, risk assessments and site induction.
