Job Description - Conference & Events Manager

Job purpose
Respond to all incoming enquiries for Private Functions, Weddings, Conferences/Meetings, and Tribute nights and other events and convert into contracted business. Carry out full coordination and event management activities of all contracted business for handover to the operations team.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Working with the reactive sales team, respond to all enquiries in an operational capacity, follow sales leads and convert to contracted bookings
Proactively sell all services and facilities, maximizing all revenue opportunities
Work to monthly targets set individually and as part of the overall conference and event sales target
Track all enquiries for lead source and obtain information to profile companies
Carry out the revenue and capacity management strategy as directed by the Sales Manager
Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues and other departments within the hotel team
Competently carry out all procedures put in to place by the Sales Manager
Work to a high degree of accuracy ensuring that all events and documents are professionally organised and presented to the end user
To be self-sufficient in all aspects of administrative systems associated with the position
Ensure we maintain a solid base of business through correspondence checks, effective chase systems, guaranteed bookings and implementation of the company’s credit policy
Meet personal objectives agreed with the Sales Manager, working to develop and achieve individual and team targets
Attend all relevant operational meetings

Experience:
Previous experience in hospitality or event planning is preferred
Strong upselling skills to maximize revenue opportunities
Excellent guest services skills to provide a positive experience for attendees
Familiarity with hotel or conference center operations
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, vendors, and team members
Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Time management skills to ensure events run smoothly

Salary:

Up to £30,000.00 per year
