An exciting opportunity to join an international construction team, working on a 24 month project in Lagos, Nigeria. The successful applicant will be expected to work 14 weeks in country with 3 weeks home return in rotation over the duration of the project. Accommodation in Lagos and travel to and from country is provided.
Task Descriptions: The Contracts Manager will be the direct point of contact on site between the client and the company. The role will be based on site in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria The successful incumbent will have the ability to lead a project from concept stage to completion, managing the relationship with the client, controlling and updating the programme plan and ensuring deliverables are met.
They must: Provide strong leadership skills and communicate effectively with all stakeholders. Ensure clear and robust controls are in place to effectively manage subcontractors. Ensure that the project is running on time and on budget, flagging risks and early warnings to the UK Construction Management team through regular updates. Providing a weekly update report to the Head of Construction and participate in monthly Project Review meetings with Senior Management. Assess all project risk and document on the project risk register, to be shared and discussed with the Head of Construction. In conjunction with the Construction Project Manager, monitor the quality and progress of installation on site, ensuring it meets or exceeds contractual requirements, until project completion. Work with QHSE and on-site management to ensure that all Safety Management Systems are in place and in operation. In conjunction with the Construction Project Manager, provide management of internal / external design team/consultants to meet project deadlines. Responsibility for resource planning and the implementation of programme changes using Microsoft Project. Tender report / analysis / recommendations on the project as required. Develop project scope with design team / client as required. Produce budgets and reports for clients on monthly cycle. Chair monthly progress meetings with the client; assigning tasks as appropriate and monitoring outputs.
Qualifications Required: Degree in construction discipline (preferred). SMSTS or NEBOSH qualification Project Management Accreditation
Skills / Experience Required: Proven experience in a similar position Experience of managing a site delivery team Knowledge and experience of international projects and delivery (desirable) Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite of applications Commercially and contractually aware focusing on the NEC 3/4 contracts and JCT Subcontract agreements. Advanced use of Microsoft Project
Salary: £90,000 - £95,000 per annum Benefits: International Health Cover, Pension, Life Insurance
