Construction Manager

Block Manager / Site Manager – Clapham, London

I am currently looking for an experienced Block Manager / Site Manager on behalf of my client, a leading main contractor delivering a major mixed-use residential development in Clapham, London.

The scheme will deliver 186 Build to Rent apartments across multiple blocks, alongside approximately 88,000 sq ft of commercial workspace, a shared basement, gymnasium, landscaped gardens and external amenity areas.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of an allocated block, working closely with the wider project team to ensure works are delivered safely, on programme and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

* Take ownership of an allocated residential block/section from construction through to completion and handover.

* Manage and coordinate subcontractors and trades on a daily basis.

* Drive works against the construction programme and short-term look-aheads.

* Coordinate structural, architectural, MEP and internal fit-out packages.

* Monitor quality, carry out inspections and manage snagging/de-snagging.

* Ensure works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and agreed standards.

* Identify and resolve programme, design and buildability issues.

* Maintain high standards of health & safety and site housekeeping.

* Attend progress meetings and provide regular updates to senior management.

* Coordinate commissioning, completion and handover activities.

Candidate Requirements

We are looking for someone with proven Site Manager / Block Manager experience on large-scale residential developments, ideally working for a main contractor.

You should have strong experience managing subcontractors, residential fit-out and finishing packages, with the ability to drive programme and quality through to handover.

SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid are preferred/required, along with strong communication and leadership skills.
