An alternative provision based in Brent is seeking a skilled and adaptable Construction Teacher to deliver City & Guilds Level 1 Construction qualifications on a part-time basis. The role will focus on a variety of practical construction disciplines excluding bricklaying.

In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will contribute to the wider school community by providing mentoring and intervention sessions to support students’ personal development and fill gaps in their timetable. The position is ideal for a qualified teacher passionate about vocational learning and pupil wellbeing.

• Deliver high-quality Construction lessons (C&G Level 1), excluding bricklaying

• Create engaging, practical, and accessible schemes of work

• Track and assess student progress in line with awarding body standards

• Provide targeted mentoring and intervention for students requiring additional support

• Build positive relationships with learners, helping to re-engage them in education

• Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment

• Collaborate effectively with colleagues across teaching and pastoral teams

Essential:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Experience delivering vocational qualifications, ideally City & Guilds Level 1 Construction

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire disengaged learners

• Experience supporting students with SEMH or additional needs

• Commitment to inclusive and pupil-centred education

Desirable:

• Experience in an alternative provision, PRU, or SEND setting

• Knowledge of trauma-informed or restorative approaches

• Relevant health and safety qualifications
