Brada Developments is looking for an experienced Site Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day management of London Mill, a historic building conversion in Leek, Staffordshire.

The project involves converting a Grade II listed mill into 28 apartments, including extensive structural alterations, refurbishment, M&E installation and high-quality finishing works.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Site Manager who enjoys taking ownership of a project and working through the challenges associated with complex existing buildings.

We welcome applications from candidates seeking PAYE employment or a freelance engagement, subject to the appropriate employment status assessment. The salary package or day rate will be agreed according to experience and the engagement basis.

The Role

Working with the Construction Manager, you will lead the day-to-day running of the site, ensuring works are delivered safely, to programme and to the required quality standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

Managing daily site activities and coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and site operatives.

Planning and sequencing works to maintain progress against the programme.

*

Monitoring workmanship and ensuring works meet the required standards.

*

Managing site logistics, deliveries, access and storage.

*

Reviewing construction drawings, specifications and relevant documentation.

*

Identifying construction issues early and coordinating their resolution with the Construction Manager and design team.

*

Maintaining accurate site records, daily diaries and progress reports.

*

Monitoring health, safety and environmental standards.

*

Ensuring RAMS are briefed, understood and followed by the workforce.

*

Coordinating temporary works activities with the Temporary Works Coordinator.

*

Conducting regular site inspections and quality checks.

*

Managing snagging and supporting commissioning, handover and project close-out.

*

Maintaining a professional, safe and well-organised site.

About You

We are looking for someone who is hands-on, organised and commercially aware, with the confidence to take ownership of site operations and drive works forward.

You should have:

Proven experience as a Site Manager within the construction industry.

*

Experience managing refurbishment, renovation or complex conversion projects.

*

A strong understanding of structural alterations, construction sequencing and site management.

*

Good knowledge of construction health and safety requirements.

*

The ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.

*

Strong subcontractor and workforce management skills.

*

Excellent communication and organisational skills.

*

A proactive approach to identifying and resolving problems.

*

The ability to make informed site decisions and recognise when matters require escalation.

*

A strong eye for quality and attention to detail.

Experience working on historic or listed buildings would be an advantage.

Qualifications

Essential:

*

Valid SMSTS certificate.

*

Current First Aid at Work qualification.

*

Appropriate valid CSCS card.

*

Asbestos awareness training.

*

Experience coordinating temporary works on site.

Desirable:

*

Temporary Works Supervisor qualification.

*

Relevant NVQ in Construction Site Management.
