We are seeking a Consultant Anaesthetist to join our dynamic team at a Private Hospital in Portsmouth. This role involves providing high-quality anaesthetic services across various surgical specialties. The successful candidate will work in a structured environment that includes weekend sessions as part of the regular rota.

Our client runs 11 hospital and surgical centres nationwide, all rated “Outstanding” or “Good” by the CQC. Facilities boast top PROMs and NJR data, 100% clean scores, and excellent PLACE assessments.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Provide anaesthetic services for elective surgeries including orthopaedics, general surgery, urology, ENT, and more.
• Undertake pre and post-operative assessments of patients, ensuring thorough communication with GPs regarding patient management.
• Offer first-line senior medical support to Resident Doctors, including on-call responsibilities.
• Participate actively in the hospital's audit, clinical governance programmes, and meetings.
• Engage in teaching and the development of clinical quality standards within the hospital.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Qualified as a Consultant Anaesthetist with relevant experience in various surgical procedures.
• Ability to manage a full range of specialist diagnosis, treatment, and care for patients requiring anaesthetic services.
• Excellent organisational skills to comply with the work schedule and manage administrative duties.
• Commitment to continuous professional development, including participation in annual revalidation with the GMC and the Royal College of Anaesthetists.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach to care.
