We are seeking a Consultant Gastroenterologist to join our team at a Private Surgical Centre in Portsmouth. This role involves delivering high-quality endoscopy services, including both gastroscopy and colonoscopy, primarily under local anaesthesia with or without sedation.

Our client runs 11 hospital and surgical centres nationwide, all rated “Outstanding” or “Good” by the CQC. Facilities boast top PROMs and NJR data, 100% clean scores, and excellent PLACE assessments.

Day-to-Day of the Role:

• Deliver diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures to referred NHS patients.
• Adhere to the British Society of Gastroenterologist guidelines and manage the collection and submission of Global Rating Scale and patient outcome data.
• Assist with incident and complaint root cause analysis reporting to the Medical Director and the Hospital Director.
• Validate discharge information and pathology results, ensuring they are sent to the necessary parties, such as GPs or local MOTs.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Eligible for a GMC License to Practice.
• Experience in delivering gastroscopy and colonoscopy procedures.
• Strong adherence to clinical guidelines and standards.
• Ability to participate in clinical audits, training, and quality assessment activities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a multi-professional team.
