Consultant Psychiatrist

Location: South Norfolk/Suffolk border
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

We are seeking a dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist to join a well-established inpatient service supporting individuals with learning disabilities and complex mental health needs. This full-time role is based in a secure, recovery-focused environment offering strong multidisciplinary support and clinical autonomy.

• Act as Responsible Clinician for a caseload of patients

• Lead on assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning

• Manage complex presentations and clinical risk

• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team

• Contribute to service strategy and development

• Participate in the second on-call rota (non-residential, low contact)

• Full GMC registration with a CCT or CESR in Learning Disability Psychiatry

• Approved Clinician status (or eligibility to obtain)

• Experience working with complex mental health and learning disability presentations

• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and decision-making skills

• Commitment to recovery-focused and person-centred care
