We are the only research company to visit and speak with the key players (including stakeholders such as importers, producers, distributors, retailers, duty-free operators) in over 160 countries globally each year. ROLE DESCRIPTION
The consulting unit within IWSR is a small but high-powered team regularly advising the C-suite of virtually all multinational alcohol manufacturers as well as most major domestic players. Leveraging our best-in-class database, combined with our world-class consumer research arm and global network of market experts, we have a unique ability to provide insights into the trends shaping the industry. Due to our singular focus on beverage alcohol, we have an unrivaled position of trust and, as a result, responsibility, to provide the most accurate view of opportunities and threats facing our clients, and to shape their strategic planning.

This is an early-career level role which has arisen from expanding responsibilities of the consulting team, primarily from increased and sustained demand for consulting and customised data analytics work during 2024.
The successful candidate will be an articulate, hard working, inquisitive person with excellent skills in data analysis, interpretation and communication of results.
Typical successful candidates in the past have come from Masters or BSc degree-level Sciences, Economics and Business programmes at leading global universities, or from a data and insight role in a commercial organisation.
Previous experience in industry or consulting working extensively with data is extremely desirable.
This role is focused on the creation and delivery of market research and data consultancy projects.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Working as part of project team on Customised Consulting projects:
Using IWSR proprietary data sets – both category and consumer – to create and interpret complex datasets
Investigating and managing secondary desk research, including sourcing and analysing data and trends intelligence as well as helping to prepare reports for clients
Working on quantitative research projects, including analysis planning and charting in Excel and PPT to highlight key findings
Delivering elements of projects to managers / directors / head of consulting accurately, on time and to a high standard
Assist colleagues in quality control and often to deliver multiple projects concurrently

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Candidates should have:
Ability to analyse and interpret large volumes of complex data and to turn data into incisive insight
Strong data literacy, with data modelling, reshaping & manipulation skills
Strong analytical written English, professional grasp of other languages a plus
Strong attention to detail and high quality standards
Excellent IT and analytical skills – Advanced Excel; (MS PowerBI would be an advantage)
Experience in SQL, SAS, and other large database management software will be helpful
Clear, inquisitive thinker with proven ability to articulate complex issues into simple messages
Highly organised, able to manage your time efficiently while working on multiple projects simultaneously
Proactive and solution-orientated mindset that contributes towards client challenges
A motivated team player who thrives in a fast-paced, professional, yet informal and supportive environment
Familiarity with different market or social research realms – consumer research, industry market research, retail audit either in an academic or commercial context is helpful
Degree-level / Masters qualification in mathematics, science, engineering, economics or social science
Knowledge of the beverage alcohol industry a distinct advantage.
