The role: Content writer

Salary: £300 per day

Location: London, with some flexible home working. 

Scope: Contract - Full Time, minimum 3 days per week.

We are looking for a talented content writer to own and improve our communication through key marketing channels including our website and blog, our newsletter, and our social media channels.  

The role

The business is growing fast, and we are building a stronger marketing function to lead and accelerate this growth, working closely in an integrated way with our sales function. 

We are looking for an intellectually curious and compelling writer who will own the content on some of our marketing channels including our blog and social media, and specialise in communicating our value to potential clients. 

They will work closely with our wider marketing and business development teams, and with our consultants to turn their ideas into compelling written content. This includes both owning the content on our website and social media channels, and supporting marketing campaigns with specific themes and aimed at particular audiences. 

Our Content Writer needs to:

• Be ambitious for Public Digital and our brand.
• Love writing, and working with designers and others to make their writing as powerful and impactful as possible.
• Be intellectually curious about the work we do in order to be able to position and market it to broader audiences. 
• Be familiar with the principles of good content design, thinking about and understanding user needs in designing how we communicate. 
• Hone and own the Public Digital tone of voice and write clear, tight and compelling copy, often to communicate and simplify complex ideas.
• Work efficiently and be able to manage multiple pieces of work at once.
• Work independently and take the initiative
• Have good stakeholder management skills in working with our consultants to provide writing support as a service: adapting the way you work based on their needs, communicating their ideas, giving and receiving feedback, and bringing them on a journey to achieve your objectives . 

What you will do:

• Write great content to sell our ideas, build new relationships with senior leaders, and generate business opportunities. to meet business needs. 
• Manage the content workflow from ideation and collaboration with consultants, to sign off and publishing. 
• Build on existing foundations to own all of Public Digital’s outward facing content through our marketing channels - particularly on our website and social media channels. 
• Collaborate with marketing, sales and consultancy colleagues to design and deliver integrated marketing campaigns to attract new clients and retain existing ones.
• Contribute to a culture of experimentation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the marketing team, using data to optimise how we produce and publish content. 

You will have: 

• Experience as a copywriter or content specialist in a marketing context. 
• Experience of managing social media accounts and building an audience through social media. 
• Experience of taking complex often abstract ideas, and bringing them to life by turning them into clear and compelling stories. 
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner - and ideally to have done this in an environment where there are many different types of audience, including very senior leaders. 
• Good foundational knowledge of the principles of content design. 
• A deep love of writing the best possible copy.

This role will be paid at a day rate of £300 per day.
