Contingency Control Room Operator

Main Areas of Responsibility:

1. To be accountable for co-ordinating emergency response, including Hazmat activities on all Teesside Sites
2. Document an audit trail of day-to-day and emergency actions
3. To interface directly with internal and external customers
4. Effective communications via telephone and electronic systems
5. To interface with external emergency services, regulatory authorities and local community
6. Effective use of internal and external systems (such as alarm and CCTV Systems) 
7. To liaise directly with the Falck UK Emergency Control Centre
8. Provide a link from the incident scene to ECC
9. Supporting ECC in exercises as a communicator
10. To have an in-depth knowledge of Control Room equipment and procedures
11. Fully competent in all Control Room systems and procedures
12. Ensure equipment is available at all times
13. Analyse/report faults and carry out appropriate remedial actions

Skills/ Qualifications:

Essential

• Competent in the use of Microsoft Office IT packages
• Good numeracy and literacy skills (GCSE Grade C or equivalent or above)
• Excellent level of communication skills
• Good IT skills
• Good time manager with tenacity and ability to work under pressure.
• A great concern for standards
• A great concern for detail
• Customer care relations
• Good teamwork skills
• Experience in emergency Control Room
• Full UK Clean Driving License & Access to a vehicle.

Desirable

• SIA License (Training & License will be funded by the business on starting)
• Customer care training NVQ level 2
• Hazmat Level 1 training

Remuneration & Benefits:

• As a casual worker, you will be paid in arrears for work carried out in the previous month.
• Deployment Payments Include: Deployment for 12hr shift - £170.16, Deployment for 2.3hr shift - £117.69, Training & Familiarisation - £117.69
• Deployment on one of the 8 public holidays will be paid at double time for the deployment payment.
• The hours of work will vary, and you will be informed of the hours required when offered work.
• You may be offered work including day shifts, nights, weekends, bank or public holidays in line with the needs of the company or its clients.
• Holiday entitlements will depend on the number of hours that you actually work and will be accrued on the basis of 12.07% of your earnings year to date and will be pro-rated on the basis of a full-time worker's entitlement, up to a maximum of 5.6 weeks' holiday during each holiday year (inclusive of bank holidays).
• If eligible, the organisation will auto-enrol you into the company’s pension scheme, in accordance with its pension’s auto-enrolment obligations after the first 3 months of employment. The company will contribute 3% of base salary on the basis that the employee contributes 5% of base salary.
