Job Description - Continuous Improvement Specialist

DP World are currently looking for a Continuous Improvement Specialist to join their team in Corringham Essex. This position will work on a variety of projects to support our sites' continuous operational performance and improvement. Our ideal applicant will have experience managing projects from conception to completion, come from a continuous improvement role in a related industry, and apply lean methodologies.

About The Role
How will you contribute:
Proactively challenge operational KPI’s and implement sustainable solutions to ensure they are met.
Advise and provide recommendations to planning and execution teams on improvement opportunities based on qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
Promote and manage the use of Lean (continuous improvement) techniques
Continually monitor, identify and implement changes that can further improve operations. Seeking alternative planning strategies to improve terminal efficiencies.
Provide ongoing support to Operational teams to help identify trends in performance, leading to opportunities to predict future improvements and opportunities.
Project manage allocated operational projects from initial idea to completion and implementation.
Utilise appropriate tools to manage and track data driven improvements and their impact on the operation.
Ensure that the documentation on operational processes & improvements, within the Operations Department, are constantly updated.

What will you Bring.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
At least 3 years’ experience within a similar role
Ideally coming from the transportation or logistics industry
Experience managing projects from initiation through to completion
Basic understanding of Terminal Operating Systems is desirable
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Proficient in all Microsoft application and IT systems
Experience with Business Process Modelling is desirable
Exposure to Power BI would be beneficial
Experience of Lean Methodologies and/or a qualification
Tertiary educational qualification would be desirable
Project management Qualification is preferred (I.E Prince 2, Agile or PMP)
