Contract Manager - Data Centre

Data centres are one of the fastest-moving areas of construction in the UK and Europe, and my client is right in the middle of it.

This is a genuine data-centre specialist. They work exclusively within the sector, designing, manufacturing and installing specialist fit-out systems for some of the most technically demanding environments in the industry. They are a global business, but I am specifically working with their UK and European division, which is experiencing significant growth.

One of the biggest areas of growth for the business is liquid cooling technology, supporting the increasing demand for high-density computing and AI infrastructure. As data centres continue to evolve, so does the technology required to cool them, and this business is at the forefront of that development.

Due to a significant increase in workload, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Project / Contract Manager to join the team.

This is a role for someone who understands construction and knows what it takes to take a project from planning through to successful delivery. Data-centre experience would be advantageous, particularly within liquid cooling, mechanical systems or other technically complex MEP environments, but above and beyond that, you need to understand how construction actually works.

You will be responsible for managing projects through delivery, administering contracts, leading teams and coordinating construction sequences to ensure programmes are delivered with the level of precision these environments demand.

There is very little room for error on a data-centre project. Programme delays can have significant commercial consequences, so this is a business that needs people who understand the importance of planning, coordination and getting things right.

There will be travel to European sites, so flexibility with travel is important. However, this works both ways, with the role offering a hybrid working arrangement and the flexibility to work from home when not required on site.
