Contract Python Engineer – Robotics / Windows Applications
Hybrid Cambridge - 1 per week

I'm working with a client looking for an experienced Python Engineer to join their team on a contract basis, working on applications used to commission, test and service robotics systems.
This is a hands-on development role, focused on improving existing Python-based Windows applications, fixing bugs, developing new features and improving software reliability within a robotics environment.
Key Skills & Experience:

Strong commercial Python development experience.
Desktop GUI development (PyQt, PySide, Tkinter or wxPython).
Windows desktop application development.
Experience working with hardware interfaces (serial, networking/UDP).
Automated testing (pytest) and test-driven development.
Git, code reviews and working with existing codebases.
Experience testing software against physical hardware.Desirable Experience:

Robotics, manufacturing automation or surgical systems.
Medical devices or other regulated industries.
Safety-critical software development.
ISO 13485 or IEC 62304.
Test protocols, technical documentation and release management.The Opportunity:
You'll be working closely with an experienced engineering team, developing and improving applications that directly support the commissioning, testing and servicing of robotic systems.
