Contract Systems Engineer

Evolito develops and manufactures class-leading, lightweight, high-power, and high-torque-density electric propulsion systems for a range of aerospace markets, including EVTOL, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and General Aviation.

We are looking for talented a Contract Systems Engineer to support the delivery of an aerospace project. This is ideal for a contractor who is an experienced engineer who thrives on solving complex challenges and producing high-quality outputs.

Responsibilities:

• Supporting analysis of customer requirements and management throughout the development lifecycle
• Assisting or authoring of requirement specifications for flow down to sub-systems, suppliers and/or customer approval
• Authoring/supporting interface control documents and ensure alignment with internal and customer requirements
• Collaborating with the simulation, analysis and design teams to assist architect the system
• Evaluating the suitability of the system architecture and make recommendations as appropriate
• Supporting customers, partners and suppliers with systems integration of electric motors and controllers
• Develop system test strategies showing traceability and compliance to customer and system requirements
• Produce Validation and Verification evidence to support certification
• Support resource estimation and risk management
• Familiar aerospace safety analysis techniques

Skills and experience required:

• Degree or equivalent in electrical, systems engineering (or other relevant technical domain)
• Demonstrated experience of systems engineering principles throughout system/product design development and delivery
• Familiarity with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) methods and simulation using tools such as Cameo and Simulink
• Experience with requirements and lifecycle management tools such as DOORS, Polarion, codeBeamer
• Ability to deal with system design complexity and degree of ambiguity
• Creative problem solver, with a logical approach to implementing solutions
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• A flexible approach to work with the desire to thrive in a dynamic, fast-moving environment within a small company
• Self-motivated with the determination to succeed
• UK driving licence and be available to support visits to supplier sites.

Desirable:

• Knowledge of motor control algorithms and implementation
