Control Room Shift Engineer: Technical Facilities
North-East Hampshire – on site

The Role:
You will be based at the facility in North-East Hampshire and will work closely with the CRES and the service desk team to ensure the efficiency of the Control Room and the reliability of the engineering systems. In the event of any malfunctions or incidents, you will be on hand to provide assessments and solutions, according to relevant guidelines and training.

Responsibilities:
Operate, monitor and report on activity daily to relevant parties
To have comprehensive understanding of engineering systems typical to those used within data centre environments, as well as the ability to maintain and repair equipment as needed
Maintain high levels of customer support in collaboration with service desk staff
To remain up to date on technical standards and emergency engineering processes
Keeping up to date, accurate records of all procedures and activities
To act as a first response to any technical issues that arise
The ability to use recorded data to implement operational improvements
Reporting on operational availability, efficiency, reliability and overall service delivery

Requirements
Level 3 or above trade qualification in a Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Building Services
A member of a professional engineering body, such as CIBSE, IMechE, IET
2+ years’ experience in critical building engineering services
Experience of working with BMS, EMS and CAFM systems
Attention to detail
To be a strong team player with a keenness to engage with other team members as needed
Ability to understand and interpret technical O&Ms, drawings and operative descriptions
To be an effective communicator, in both a personal and technical setting, who works well under pressure
The ability to present data and records in an organised, intelligible and accessible manner
A thorough and analytical approach
The ability to achieve SC Clearance
