A growing engineering and manufacturing technology business is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to join its expanding team. The company designs and delivers advanced automated equipment and process solutions used in high-performance manufacturing environments across a range of industries, including marine, aerospace, renewable energy and advanced composites.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and develop electrical and control systems for automated manufacturing equipment.
* Create software solutions for machine control, monitoring, regulation and automation.
* Produce technical specifications, electrical designs, schematics and supporting documentation.
* Support projects throughout the full lifecycle, from concept and feasibility studies through to commissioning and customer handover.
* Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation.
* Research and implement new technologies and engineering solutions to improve equipment performance and manufacturing processes.
* Provide technical support and training to customers, both remotely and on-site.
* Collaborate with engineering, production and commercial teams to support project delivery and customer requirements.
* Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety and quality standards.
Requirements
Essential
* Degree-qualified in Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
* Minimum 1 year of experience in a Control Systems, Automation or related engineering role.
* Experience developing electrical and electronic control systems.
* Strong understanding of industrial automation principles.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally when required.
Desirable
* Experience with PLC programming.
* Experience using Siemens TIA Portal.
* Knowledge of automated machinery, manufacturing equipment or process control systems.
* Experience supporting commissioning and installation activities.
