A successful manufacturing group with exciting expansion plans and an enviable customer base is making significant investment in its plant and has a new vacancy for a Controls & Automation Engineer. You will be responsible for the installation, optimisation and ongoing development of industrial control systems, electrical control systems and automation technologies across a range of manufacturing machinery. Working on existing production assets and supporting the integration of new control and automation technologies, you will play a key role in improving equipment performance, reliability and efficiency. Candidates are sought with a good understanding of PLC’s, Robotics and electrical control systems and experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
The Role
Install, commission and maintain automated machinery and production systems.
Diagnose and repair electrical and automation-related faults on industrial equipment.
Support and troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems, HMIs, Drives and industrial communication networks.
Work closely with production, engineering and maintenance teams to minimise downtime and meet operational requirements.
Assist in defining project scopes and validating technical design specifications.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and datasheets.
Support machinery upgrades, modifications, and continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, quality, and reliability.
The Person
Experience in manufacturing, production or industrial automation environment.
Good knowledge of PLC’s, HMI’s, robotics and electrical control systems.
Hands-on experience with control panel wiring and electrical circuits.
Strong understanding of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics.
Experience designing and installing pneumatic systems.
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
Strong team player with a commitment to continuous improvement Only candidates based in UK and eligible to work in UK are allowed
