£45/hour - Outside IR35

Hybrid - Norwich

Occasional travel to Singapore, Vietnam & Turkey required

OVERVIEW

Looking for a hands-on Controls & Commissioning Engineer to support the testing and commissioning of specialist equipment and control systems.

The role will involve Siemens PLC/HMI systems, FATs, SATs and commissioning, with equipment including HPU package and fire suppression control panels.

RESPONSIBILITIES

PLC and HMI testing, programming and fault-finding
Carry out FAT, iFAT and SAT activities
Hands-on commissioning of control systems and equipment
I/O checks, loop checks and functional testing
Test Cause & Effect and control sequences
Support HPU and fire suppression control systems
Troubleshoot controls, instrumentation and PLC issues
Read and work from P&IDs, schematics and technical drawings
Work with suppliers and clients during testing and commissioning
Complete commissioning documentation and handoverSKILLS / REQUIREMENTS

5+ years' experience in Controls, Automation, Instrumentation or Commissioning
Strong Siemens TIA Portal experience
Experience with WinCC
PLC programming and fault-finding
FAT, SAT and hands-on commissioning experience
Experience with I/O and loop checks
Ability to read P&IDs and control/electrical drawings
Experience with hydraulic or pneumatic systems
Experience working in ATEX / hazardous environmentsDESIRABLE

AutoCAD
Oil & Gas, Marine, Industrial or Process experience
IEC 61508 / IEC 61511 knowledge
